The Coolangatta Gold is a world-renowned Ironman event that draws hundreds of participants each year, while the Gold Coast Film Festival celebrates film and cinematography. The Festival of the Stone and Wood brings winter in style, and Kwame Holy Holy have announced an 11-stop headlining national tour that will arrive on the Gold Coast in April.
Supanova is an annual pop culture festival that features cosplays, comics, sci-fi, anime and video games. It takes place over eleven days and includes exciting new screenings, premieres, questions and answers and emerging events. These events take place at various venues such as the HOTA Home Cinema Center, the House of the Arts, Southport Rooftop Cinema, Floating Cinema and Women in Film Luncheon. The Flotsam Festival includes a maelstrom of short film premieres, workshops, debates with filmmakers and photographers, and photographic exhibitions.
These events are held both indoors and outdoors at venues such as Burleigh, Palm Beach, Currumbin, Tugun, Kirra and Coolangatta. Storyfest is the Gold Coast’s writers’ festival that takes place over three days in March. The SWELL Sculpture Festival is expected to attract more than 100,000 visitors. It includes satellite activations on the Gold Coast that span from the north of the city to the southern tip of Coolangatta.
ART ROLL Gold Coast offers a free tour with more than 100 street art murals by 75 different artists. The Coolangatta Gold is an Ironman event that tests participants’ lifesaving endurance surfing skills. The Gold Coast Film Festival celebrates film and cinematography in Queensland’s most dynamic film destination. The Festival of the Stone and Wood brings winter in style with special guests, personalized trophies from local artist Dion Parker, live music performances and the best after-party on the Gold Coast.
